Recruitment/Trainings of Japanese media

I would like to know how Japanese reporters are recruited and what kind of training do they undergo before they are let out in the field.

I am asking this because I have heard from three aspiring Japanese journalists that it is quite hard to be employed in the media especially in TV stations.

Also, are there any japanese media firm that hires foreigners in their roster of journalists?
